(please check this page daily)

This page has been set up to keep our employees informed of any company-wide information regarding COVID-19, including shutdown and return to work information.

May 6, 2020

Dear Metal Standard Employee:

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued Executive Order No. 2020-70 (the "Order"). Effective at 12:01 AM on May 7, 2020. Section 10(i) of the Order permits businesses to perform activities (while implementing the precautionary requirements referenced in the Order) that are necessary to the manufacture of goods that support workplace modifications to forestall the spread of COVID-19 infections. Metal Standard has received notifications for our end customers we contract manufacture for that their lines of business are appropriately categorized as permitted "resumed activities" under this Executive Order.

We have be requested by our end customers that as of May 7, we increase and resume production support and are requiring you to return to work on Monday, May 11th at 5 AM. Hours of operation will be Monday-Thursday 5 AM to 3 PM with overtime running on Fridays.

Should you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact me at 616-396-6356, or 616-218-0697.

Sincerely,

Joe Malis

MSC Update

First of I all would like to thank all the employees that we have asked to come into work; we appreciate your commitment to Metal Standard. We could not have met our customers’ needs without your efforts.

I would like to give everyone an update of what has been happening at Metal Standard during the mandated government shut down.  We have implemented several procedures to ensure everyone’s safety at Metal Standard.  You will be required to enter the building through the Production Office where your temperature will be taken and recorded at the arrival and the end of your shift.  We are practicing the 6 foot social distancing rule by staggering break and lunches and rearranging some of the work cells.  We are providing masks and have been implementing daily cleaning procedures.

The work we are doing is only for essential customers and they have provided us with letters stating that we are an essential supplier to them.  The letters are posted in the lunch room if you would like to review them.

Demand for product is increasing and we are in need of everyone returning to work to meet our customer’s needs.  We are going to be switching to a 4 day 8 hour per day work week with Friday’s off.  In order for us to be effective, and put a schedule together we would need a commitment from you on which days and for how long you would be able to work during the mandated government shut down.

Please respond to this email by Monday 4/27 and let us know if you are able to help us meet our customers’ needs.

Thanks,

Joe

After trying for 2 days to get a hold of the unemployment office, I was finally successful in getting the answers on how you need to handle returning any funds you received from them.

Send a check or money order for the amount you received and include the following information:

Include your MIN#
Send to this address:

State of Michigan Restitution
Dept #771760
PO Box 77000
Detroit, MI 48277-1760

If you received a debit card from them, they suggest you hang on to it in case you have to apply for benefits in the future, but you still need to send a check or money order to them for the amound on the card.

DO NOT go online or call in to certify and this will stop your benefits and you should no longer receive any payment.

I know that you were told to file for benefits and now this is a hassle to return the funds, but remember, if you do not return the funds more than likely once we return to normal; a garnishment could be issued to withhold the amound from your future paychecks.

PLEASE REMEMBER DO NOT FILE FOR BENEFITS UNTIL DIRECTED TO DO SO BY METAL STANDARD.

Thanks and stay healthy.
